Uses of Clopidogrel
This medicine is used in patients who have suffered a myocardial infarction (heart attack) and are at risk of having an atherothrombotic event (disease of blood vessels), ischemic stroke (blood supply to the brain is blocked due to clot) or peripheral artery disease (arteries become narrow due to which there is reduced blood supply to limbs).
Side effects of Clopidogrel
Some patients may experience unusual bleeding, stomach upset, skin reactions, nervous system, hepatic (liver) or blood disorders. Please consult your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms.
When not to use Clopidogrel
Patients suffering from severe hepatic impairment (liver disorder), peptic ulcers (stomach ulcers), or intracranial hemorrhage(bleeding inside the skull) please consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
Uses of Aspirin
Co-Plavix can be used in the prevention of secondary thrombotic cerebrovascular or cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke); following surgery; and mild to moderate pain.
Side effects of Aspirin
Co-Plavix may cause bronchospasm (lung disease), Gl upset (stomach upset), Allergic reactions, and haemorrhage (bleeding).
When not to use Aspirin
Co-Plavix should be avoided in patients with previous or active peptic ulceration (stomach ulcers), Hemophilia (a blood disease) and other bleeding disorders, Severe renal or hepatic impairment (kidney or liver disease).

This medicine should be taken with food.
