It is also used to treat schizophrenia, mania and hypomania, oranic psychosis, agitation in psychotic illness, and childhood behavior disorders.Side effects of DosikSide effects of this drug can include decreased white blood cells, hyperprolactinemia (increased prolactin hormone in blood), acute dystonia and dyskinesias (abonormal muscle tone and movement), severe restlessness, Parkinsonism, drowsiness, psychotic disorder, tardive dyskinesia (involuntary movement of face and jaw), prolong upward deviation of eyes, dizziness, visual disturbances, tachycardia (increased heart rate), arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythm), ECG changes, altered LFTs, decreased blood pressure, weight changes, GI upset, dry mouth, blurred vision, rash, sensitivity to light, impaired temperature regulation, convulsions, sexual dysfunction, extrapyramidal symptoms, muscle spasm, lack of sleep, agitation, headache, and depression. There are also reports of neuroleptic malignant syndrome, decreased blood glucose level, SIADH, and sudden death.When not to use DosikThis drug is not to be adminitered to comatose patients, patients with CNS depression, Parkinson’s disease, lesions of basal ganglia, dementia with Lewy bodies, progressive supranuclear palsy, recent MI episode, heart failure, arrhythmias, QT prolongation, 2nd or 3rd degree heart block, bradycardia (decreased heart rate), hypokalemia (decreased potassium ions in blood), and in elderly.How to take DosikThis medicine should not be taken with foodWarningsDriving
